The Ritz-Carlton Residences, South Beach — Ten blocks, then the Atlantic
Gardens, galleries and evening tables line Lincoln Road, and the residences stand on its first block, at the sand.
The Ritz-Carlton Residences, South Beach stand where the first block of Lincoln Road meets the beach, in the Art Deco Historic District. Miami Beach was shaped by the French and Italian Rivieras and grew into an American cultural capital, and the district keeps that story in pastel and white: porthole windows, iron balconies, façades lit by the evening.
The rest of the island is within a walk. Flamingo Park and Lummus Park, South Pointe Park, the Botanical Garden, the Convention Center and Sunset Harbour are all reached without the car, and Soundscape Park opens its lawn beside the New World Symphony, a short walk from the door.
South Beach
The island at the blue hour
From above, the streets of South Beach run in a fine grid to the sand, and the Atlantic keeps the last of the light.
The Beach Walk
The path along the sand
Mornings belong to the Beach Walk, the paved path that follows the dunes past the door, under palms that lean toward the water. It is the way to the next café, the next park and the next swim, and the way home.
The city has its own plans for this corner: a public plan that takes in the first block of Lincoln Road, the Beach Walk and a “Lapidus Arch,” in the name of the architect whose hotel still stands on the block.
